Hannover 96: U23 defeats Altona - U19 and U17 celebrate strong victories!

In the Regionalliga North, Hannover 96's U23s achieved a remarkable win against Altona 93 on matchday 10. In an exciting match, the team won 4-1 and thus consolidated their place in the middle of the table. Sean Busch took the lead in the second minute with a penalty after Denis Husser was fouled in the penalty area by Altona's keeper Lohmann. Shortly after half time, Joseph Ganda made it 2-0, followed by Tom Hobrecht, who made it 3-0 in the 67th minute.

However, Altona 93, which operates under coach Andreas Bergmann and got into the game better in the second half, managed to score the next goal through Przondziono in the 85th minute. Captain Tim Walbrecht finally restored the old distance in the 88th minute and ensured the final score.

U19 and U17 also successful

The successes for the Hanover teams continued in the U19 and U17. The U19 won impressively 4-1 against Werder Bremen in the DFB youth league. Ole Wegner gave the guests the lead immediately after half-time. Mika Hoffmann added in the 60th minute before Werder scored through Manthey in the 62nd minute. But Jasper Reinhold and Kevin Ahlberg made everything clear in the final quarter of an hour and scored in the 75th and 84th minutes.

What is particularly notable is that Hannover 96's U19s are now in second place, just two points behind Hamburger SV. “We played a strong game today, the boys were extremely motivated,” explained coach Cedric Makiadi after the game.

In the fast lane: The U17s

The U17s held first place in the DFB youth league with a 2-1 win against VfL Osnabrück. Eymen Demir was the star of the game, scoring twice in the 15th and 21st minutes. However, Osnabrück's rebellion had no consequences thanks to Kameric's goal in the 89th minute. “Our defense was strong, it was an important game for us,” summarized coach Clemens Döring.

Overall, Hannover 96's youth teams are in excellent shape and show that they have a lot of talent. The balance speaks for itself: the U17s are now five points ahead of Werder Bremen.

Football remains a popular sport not only here locally, but is also enjoying growing popularity throughout Germany. According to the current DFB statistics for the 2022/2023 season, the number of members is high: over 2.31 million active players are registered, which shows an increase in the youth sector. The increase in girls' football is particularly pleasing, having grown by almost 12 percent since last year. The number of active referees has also increased, proving that young talent is flourishing in German football. The DFB has invested a lot in the training of trainers in recent years, which has also had a positive effect.

The future of football in Germany looks promising, and Hannover 96's youth teams are doing their part to pass on the passion for the sport. Let's look forward to seeing how the seasonal developments continue, not just in Bremen, but throughout Germany!
