Folk Festival in Blumenthal: A weekend full of music and enjoyment!
A pleasant weekend for all fans of folk and market culture - the “Folk im Kämmerei-Quartier” festival took place in the Blumenthal district of Bremen, which was held at the same time as the popular Markttach. More than a dozen market stalls attracted visitors and offered a colorful range of goods, while eight bands took turns on the stage of the historic Kämmerei quarter from Friday to Sunday.
The atmosphere was lively and inviting. Jonas Rölleke, frontman of the band La Kejoca, praised the location and the open-minded audience, which had already become aware of the band last year. Further musical highlights were provided by the Stuttgart headliners “Tales of Nebelheym”, who skillfully spread folk sounds. “Stew 'n' Haggis”, a local hero band known for their interpretative jigs and reels, also contributed their part to the musical diversity.
Market stalls with local delicacies
At the Markttach, visitors could not only listen to the sounds, but also indulge in the culinary delights. Claudio Scio and his wife offered Sardinian specialties, while Katrin Staug delighted the guests' palates with her homemade chutneys, jams and pickled port pears. Staug noticed that the audience in Blumenthal was particularly relaxed and friendly - a welcome change in more stressful shopping situations.
Tina and Peter Leutholf, who took part in this event for the first time, said in advance: “We will definitely be back next year!” It is voices like these that show the organizers that they are on the right track. The event was celebrated as a cultural highlight in the north of Bremen and strengthens the community.
Interest is growing
Bianka Haberer from Cuxhaven, who became aware of the event through the press, wanted more advertising to attract even more visitors. The festival and Markttach offer an ideal platform to promote local talent and markets. In the future, better visibility could take things even further.
Just as Bremen generally offers a variety of festivals and folk festivals, events like this are an important part of the city's cultural life. Whether at the Festival Maritim with Irish-Scottish sounds or the nationally known Freimarkt - the Hanseatic city knows how to invite its residents and visitors to the celebration. For many, taking part in such celebrations becomes a wonderful tradition. The anticipation for the next events is already assured.
