New fire brigade center in Burgdamm: Investor for property wanted!

In the city of Bremen, there are big plans for the fire brigade. We are looking for a suitable property for the construction of a new focus in Burgdamm. The area is said to be between 3000 and 5000 square meters and offer space for a modern fire station. The requirements for the new premises

The preliminary planning for this focus has already started. The requirements for the property and the building were determined together with the Bremen fire brigade and Immobilien Bremen. It is important that the property is easily accessible and ideally within a radius of 1.5 km around the Burg station.

As far as the equipment is concerned, in addition to the fire station with administrative areas, several vehicle parking spaces and possibly also an additional coache are planned. In view of the high standards that are placed on fire station today, a new building is essential. The planning is based on the fire protection requirements plan 2025 and on the structural concept of the volunteer fire brigades in Bremen, such as Secure-Feuerwehr.de

The need for such a new building can also be seen in the security requirements. Firefighters must meet the security standards in accordance with DIN 14092. Among other things, this standard takes into account the room layout and traffic safety for the emergency services. Planning must ensure that hazards are excluded from too small parking space sizes or defective traffic routes. The focus here is on ensuring occupational safety and health care of the volunteers.

A look into the future

If you wonder how the implementation of the project is progressing, it should be said: A specific date for the construction start has not yet been determined. The budget for the new building has also been indefinite, but the construction and rental costs will be located in the medium single-digit million range. The city is actively looking for investor and accepts purchase or rental offers until August 31.

The Burgdamm volunteer fire brigade, which is the largest of the three weirs affected, was founded in 1895 and currently has over 30 active members and 20 in the youth fire brigade. The current guard in Burgdammer Ring 68 has been the location of the Burgdamm fire brigade since 1977, but after moving to the new premises, the existing fire station is no longer needed. The citizens of Bremerhaven can therefore be excited to see how this important project will develop in the coming months.
