New building at Lesumer Marktplatz: approval despite violent criticism!

In Burglesum there are news that affects the future of the Lesumer marketplace. The circulation procedure of the Burglesum advisory board for a planned construction project has been completed and the feedback could hardly be more different. Applications by Maren Wolter (SPD) and Ulrike Schnaubelt (Greens) met with lively interest, and the majority of the advisory board members finally voted for the new building at Lesumer Church 6, as the Weser-Kurier reported.

The vote was clearly out of the question: 16 out of 17 members who voted voted dropped out a vote. Among the voices there were nine that supported Wolter's draft, while Schnotelt earned her own proposal to revise the building application, which seven advisory board members agreed. In the meeting, it was also found that an old half -timbered house nearby is dilapidated and that renovation is not only uneconomical, but also impossible. Architect Philipp Romeiser and René Kotte from the Bremen-Nord building office explained the existing situation and showed photos that impressively documented the need for renovation. A new building with several residential units and a café is to be built, whereby a restaurateur is planning to open an ice cream parlor with outdoor seating.
