Bremen police strikes: three street robbers caught within hours!

Bremen, Deutschland - The Bremen police were able to see small successes in the fight against street crime on Saturday. In the districts of Mitte and Castle, three suspects were arrested, which had taken place in independent raids against passers -by. These events show that unfortunately there is currently no shortage of criminal activities in the Hanseatic city.

The first incident occurred on Saturday afternoon in Martinnistraße. A 29-year-old Bremer was addressed by a 15-year-old young person who asked about a cigarette. As a result, the adolescent attacked the victim, stepped into his knees several times and tore him from his neck. The attacked man was no longer on the ground before the perpetrator fled towards "Am Brill". However, the police were able to quickly set the 15-year-old. An adhesive examination against the Moroccan adolescents is currently underway, as the Buten and Binnen .

A look at previous incidents

These not exactly enjoyable incidents are in the context of a worrying development of street crime in Bremen. Some time ago, in April 2024, a 16-year-old was arrested, for example, who had robbed a 23-year-old man near the main station. The young person was already known to the police and drew a knife to threaten his victim, which made the crime even more frightening. He could be caught in a parking garage when he tried to hide. In this case, an arrest warrant was issued due to the risk of repetition, which shows how serious the situation is now.

The Bremen police have been increasingly responding to this recently. In September, the “Junge Räuber” special commission was launched in order to combat raids by young intensive offenders in the station area more intensively. This is another step to counteract the steadily growing problem of youth crime from which many suspects come from North African countries. The measures that are taken are urgently needed and not just locally important.

In a time when the security of citizens is becoming increasingly important, it remains to be hoped that the police can continue to successfully act against this form of crime and that Bremen citizens can feel safer again.
