These not exactly enjoyable incidents are in the context of a worrying development of street crime in Bremen. In this case, an arrest warrant was issued due to the risk of repetition, which shows how serious the situation is now.

The Bremen police have been increasingly responding to this recently. In September, the “Junge Räuber” special commission was launched in order to combat raids by young intensive offenders in the station area more intensively. This is another step to counteract the steadily growing problem of youth crime from which many suspects come from North African countries. The measures that are taken are urgently needed and not just locally important.
