Hopper Mobility starts series production: The new e-pedelec is here!

Hamburg, Deutschland - The Hamburg start-up Hopper Mobility has taken a big step towards sustainable mobility. The series production of its innovative three-wheeled e-pedelecs, which is known under the name Hopper, has now started. The vehicle, originally planned for a market launch in 2023, has been waiting for its big appearance since then. Now the time has finally come and the need to catch up with the enthusiasts long ago. Hopper Mobility's goal: to establish a new range of mobility between bicycle and car.

What makes the hopper so special? It combines the maneuverability of a bike with the comfort of a vehicle. With a roof, a steering wheel, a back seat and a lockable trunk, the hopper is well equipped to serve both as a means of transport and for small excursions. The vehicle remains suitable for cycling and also impresses with a turning radius of less than two meters - perfect for tight roads and spontaneous turning maneuvers.

variants and prices

Hopper is offered in two exciting variants. The Passenger Hopper for two people starts at 11,900 euros, while the Cargo Hopper , which has a larger storage space, is available from 12,300 euros. Both models bring a number of improvements, including a revised suspension, new driving electronics and optimized driving dynamics. In addition, the vehicles are equipped with light stand and driving lights, a reversing function and an integrated USB connection, which further increases driving comfort.

The entire production offensive is in cooperation with the well -known bicycle dealer Little John Bikes, who has 60 branches in Germany. This partnership should not only increase the visibility of the hopper in inpatient bicycle trade, but also address urban target groups. Test drives are already possible in the Bremen E-Bike Store from Epedalics, and the response is observed closely in order to possibly also add further branches to the test offer if successful. Hopper Mobility also plans to expand the offer to other cities such as Hamburg, Lippstadt, Freiburg and Munich.

Latest developments in the mobility sector

Developments at Hopper Mobility fall into a larger trend that shapes electromobility in Germany. The political and industrial course clearly aim at the switch from combustion to electric motors. In 2023, the EU decided that from 2035 no new petrol and diesel cars (except for e-fuel) may be approved. The ambitious goal: to reach 15 million electric cars by 2030. By the end of 2022, over 1 million fully electric cars had already been approved in Germany, and the trend is steeping up.

The combination of e-pedelecs such as the hopper and the increasing spread of electric cars could be a decisive factor in order to make the urban traffic of the future sustainable. With a game of patience of publications and technical improvements, the e-pedelec market struggles to stay competitive and convince consumers of the advantages of electrical mobility. Statista says that the number of loading points in Germany has risen to over 123,400, which also contributes to the attractiveness of electric vehicles.

The past few months show that the demand for environmentally friendly transport solutions is high and Hopper Mobility reacts to this development with a clever product. It remains exciting to see how the market will develop and what role the E-Pedelec Hopper will play.
