Discover Bremen's architecture: a day full of architecture on Sunday!

On Sunday, June 29th, the time has come again: the Day of the architecture is just around the corner and invites all Bremener and Bremerhaven, a look behind the scenes of impressive construction projects throw. This year the event celebrates its 30th anniversary and presents a total of 101 projects at eleven locations in Bremen and an object in Bremerhaven.

The variety of buildings ranges from residential complexes, schools and kindergartens to innovative research centers and industrial plants. The Kellogg’s Silo Hotel, the center for deep-sea research and the recycling station in Blumenthal are particularly noteworthy. Mayor Andreas Bovenschulte emphasizes the influence of the citizens on the structural future of the city. The event not only offers an insight into current construction projects, but also promotes the dialogue between the architect and the public.

insight into architecture and planning

Visitors can take part in free tours and ask questions directly to the architects. For the Kellogg’s Silo Hotel, however, a prior registration is required, which can take place via the website of the Lower Saxony Chamber of Architects. Even if the tours are already fully booked, there are numerous other attractions to discover. It is recommended to use the brochure with further information on the locations and events of the accompanying program "Architecture Time", which can either be picked up in the Chamber of Architects or requested by email.

The event not only shows modern new buildings, but also places a strong focus on the topic of “building further in the existence”. Many of the construction projects focus on converted and renovated buildings that shine in new splendor in the sense of sustainability. An example of this is a building that was formerly used as an Aunt-EMMA shop, which now serves as a residential building. This concept reflects the current trend that shows that existing conversions predominate the new buildings this year.

an event throughout Lower Saxony

The day of architecture, which takes place in cooperation with the architectural chambers in Bremen and Lower Saxony, now not only attracts regional but also national interest. Former Prime Minister Stephan Weil again takes over the patronage and thus signals the great importance that architecture has for our society.

The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and enables the public to discover buildings that are otherwise not or only partially accessible. So if you are curious and would like to learn more about the exciting construction projects, you should paint this day in the calendar and the [Chamber of Architects Lower Saxony] (https://www.aknds.de/aktuelles/presseinformations/detail/30-jahre-te-te-dar-architektur- Sustainable).
