Hemelingen, Deutschland - In Bremen, a heroic deed of three young people ensures positive headlines. On June 14, they discovered a 98-year-old senior citizen who had been lost during the thunderstorm and was exhausted in a bush. The youngsters were originally on remote paths to photograph lightning when they found the woman's rollator and finally the senior citizen herself. Due to their quick action, they immediately alerted the police, who informed an ambulance. Without the help of the three young people, the saving support would not have come in time, Rolf Gehrke, the senior's son, is certain. He emphasizes: "My mother would not have survived without the help of the young people."

The senior citizen, who is currently living in the Rosemarie-Nemetz house in Arbergen, suffers from dementia. She had previously disappeared from the nursing home without supervision, and after her absence was noticed, the nurses had sought intensely for her and finally informed the police. While Rolf Gehrke and his wife were in Bremerhaven, at around 11 p.m. they received the call that their mother had been found and had to be taken to the hospital. There it turned out that she had a broken upper arm, but she is now better.
