Education under pressure: Last chance for Bremen's Marodes School System!

On Friday, the third and last session of the "Round Table Education" takes place in Bremen, a crucial meeting in which the arising problems in the education sector will be the main topic. A future -oriented proposal that was presented as part of the latest discussions is the "Bremer Appeal", which calls for a federal special assets for the formation of at least 100 billion euros and a planned expansion of the capacities. Prof. Dr. Rudolf Hickel, an economist, presented some striking ideas in this regard.

The first measures from the "Laboratory of Good Ideas" should already be implemented. From spring 2026, a mathematics test will be offered in various languages ​​of origin and an online feedback tool is introduced to improve the quality of the lesson. It is also particularly exciting that students can now give feedback via tablet, which is certainly a step into the digital future.

The way forward

Senator Aulepp is optimistic that comprehensive funding will flow from the federal investment package. It demands close cooperation between all relevant actors, because in order to make real progress in the field of education, support from the federal government and its own efforts in Bremen are essential. The next step is to find suitable financial resources without putting too much strain on the current households. Aulepp's vision is that the education system in Bremen finally receives attention it needs.

The exciting question remains whether, after the third session, specific projects and solutions are actually coming up. After all, it is also necessary to increase the per capita expenditure for students that the financial department agrees. It will be interesting to see how the next steps will take Bremen.
