Bremen alarm: Domsheide closed for weeks for track work!
In the coming weeks, the Bremen road users will face some challenges, because Bremer Straßenbahn AG (BSAG) will carry out comprehensive construction work on the tram tracks in the Domsheide area. The aim of the measures is to renew four switches and two intersections to ensure the operational safety of the tram. This work is divided into two phases, each affecting different areas of Domsheide. According to the Weser Kurier Start construction work today.
The first phase of the construction work begins on July 14, 2025 and ends on July 27th. During this period, the track area in front of McDonald’s is processed, and the work takes place daily between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. A special exception is July 20, where the work starts from 7 a.m. and last until 3 a.m. on the night of July 21st. All trams are diverted via Domsheide during this time. The lines concerned include lines 2, 3, 5 and 8. href = "https://www.bsag.de/featature-sites/aktuelle-melden/news/gleisbau-doms-domsheide-fuehren-zu-umleitungen-im-innstadt area.html? tx_news_pi1%5bController%5D = news & tx_news_pi1%5baction%5d = detail & chash = Eff273b0fb7f4501c5bd13ffd24a "> BSAG explained.
diversions and stop changes
The second construction phase is planned for the period from July 28 to August 10, 2025. The track area in front of the courthouse and the former post office is edited. Working hours are also daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., supplemented by night work on the night from 4th to August 5th. In this phase, the diversions are adjusted again. For example, line 2 will only run between Gröpelingen and Domsheide, while lines 3 and 8 between Domsheide and Sielwall are diverted. Here, too, passengers have to expect stopping stops, especially for the stops at the theater on Goetheplatz and Ulrichsplatz.
The BSAG has also organized replacement buses that drive every 5 minutes between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. In addition, bus lines 24, 25, N3 and N5 must also be diverted, with changes to stops in the area on the wall and deeper. The aim is to keep the impairments for passengers as low as possible as from the information from the information from the href = "https://www.bsag.de/featature-sites/aktuelle-melden/news/gleisbau-doms-domsheide-fuehren-zu-umleitungen-im-innstadt area.html? tx_news_pi1%5bController%5D = news & tx_news_pi1%5baction%5d = detail & chash = Eff273b0fb7f4501c5bd13ffd24a "> BSAG emerges.
For all drivers, the Domsheide is completely closed to cars and trucks, with the only exception to a limited access to the bell. Pedestrian crossings are marked accordingly in order to offer more security in the construction site area. The BSAG appeals to all road users to inform themselves in good time about the diversions and to use alternative ways.
With these measures, BSAG takes an important step to improve the infrastructure and safety in the Bremen tram network. Despite the temporary restrictions, the renewal of the track systems is of crucial importance for the future reliability of the transport connections in Bremen.Details | |
