An unexpected full closure of the Weserstrandstrasse has meant that several lines have to be redirected. As the Weser-Kurier reports, a mixed water canal broke under the lane ceiling at short notice, which forced the tram to react within just 60 minutes and to change its traffic management.
Lines 90, 91 and 92 are affected, which can no longer start any stops between the bus station and the supermarkets on the Bahrplate. This means that passengers have to do without the Blumenthal/Markt stops, the Donaufleet, Ferry Blumenthal, Rönnebecker Straße and Dillener Park. The entire diversion process required a quick coordination of the traffic masters, which had to delete five stops and integrate eight new ones. These changes were communicated to the drivers via radio, and information managers from RAHNBahn AG and employees were also mobilized in order to apply diversion instructions directly at the stops.

As a replacement for the eliminating stops, new ones have been set up, including Fresenbergstraße, Wasser tower, Hakenwehrstraße, Besanstraße, Eggestedter Straße, Business Court Blumenthal, Ermlandstraße and Bahnhof Turnerstrasse. Commuters currently have to prepare for an additional travel time of about five minutes, which extends the travel times in this section.
The full closure is expected to last a month and three weeks, with a planned re -release of Weserstrandstrasse in the second half of August. The mobility authority and the Bremen-Niedersachsen transport association are informed about the situation and support the RAHINGAGE AG in this challenging time.
Special timetable through the diversions
In view of the diversions, Bremer Straßenbahn AG has created a special timetable that replaces the regular timetable.
