Important Berne-Farge ferry station closed until Monday due to construction work!

The Berne-Farge ferry station will remain closed until 12:59 a.m. on Monday 11 August due to road construction work in Farge. This was announced by the Bremen-Stedingen ferry company. The reason for the obstruction is construction work on Wilhelmshavener Straße, which represents an unexpected challenge for residents and commuters in the region.

From Saturday, August 9th, 00:06 a.m., until the ferry station reopens, ferry traffic between Berne and Farge will be at a standstill. During this time, the Wilhelmshavener Straße/Berner Fährweg intersection area is completely closed. The construction work is part of a larger project that deals with the safety and performance of the transport infrastructure in Bremen in order to meet the increasing demands of growing transport use. According to the information page about construction projects in Bremen, the closure of access to the ferry will last until August 15, 2025, with dismantling work for this traffic route planned at that time [faehren-bremen.de].

The current construction projects in Bremen aim to adapt the transport system to growing requirements and make it safer. A key aspect of these measures is the renovation of existing infrastructure in order to be able to better manage the traffic load in the future. This will become increasingly noticeable over the next few months, especially in the form of numerous construction sites and traffic disruptions [bau.bremen.de].

From Monday, August 11th, at 1 a.m., the regular timetable will apply again at all ferry points. For the local community and travelers, this means a return to normal routine and more mobility in the region.
