Vegesack's advisory board before summer break: Young topics on the agenda!

The Vegesack district faces important decisions: At the last meeting of the Vegesacker Advisory Board today, on June 15, 2025, current topics should actually be discussed before the summer break. However, the originally planned point for heat planning had to be canceled due to the holidays of the speakers. An alternative debate about health issues in the district also fell into the water. This does not mean that the session does not take place-the political groups will still deal with topics that are of interest to the Vegesacker citizens, such as [Weser-Kurier reported] (https://www.weser-kurier.de/bremen/stadtteil-vegesack/vegesack-welche-themen-der-juni- der-tunichta-doc8125c9doltj2ivvzcu6).

A central topic on the agenda is the new election of the Vegesacker Youth Advisory Board. Here the youth council is actively working to strengthen the voice of the young people in Vegesack and to represent their interests. The members have clear goals: name and evaluate relevant district topics and develop applications and statements. The youth advisory board should consist of eleven members, although the election is only eliminated if there are not enough candidates available. In this case, a youth forum could be appointed, according to the information from [youth advisory board Vegesack] (https://jugend advisory board-vegesack.de/).

representation of youth interests

The members of the youth advisory board are highly motivated and committed. Among them are Jolina, Koray, Anton, Yasmin and many others who not only represent the interests of the young people, but also want to actively work in the design of the district. Millenial engagement is very important; You meet regularly and plan how to improve the world's living environment in Vegesack. The management and commitment of the youth advisory board should help to hear the voices of the younger ones and that social issues in the district do not fall under the table.

Another point that will be discussed at the meeting is the planned restriction when using the free ticket for children and adolescents. From 2026, this should no longer be used at folk festivals, including the Vegesacker Markt. The SPD has made an application for this, this restriction should not be decided. Currently, the free tickets can still be used for the Vegesacker Markt, the leisure pool Vegesack and the Volkshochschule Nord, according to the reporting of [Weser-Kurier] (https://www.weser-kurier.de/bremen/stadt- Vegesack/Vegesack-welche-themen-der-juni- der-tunichta-doc8125c9doltj2ivvzcu6).

bicycle stands and urban development

The topic of bicycle stands on Ambassador Duckwitz-Platz and on Rohrstrasse also provide discussions. Ingo Schiphorst has made an urgent request here. While the committee for road, traffic and market affairs rejected the location on Ambassador Duckwitz-Platz, there was a proposal at the location on Rohrstrasse, which was also rejected by the responsible office. The local office manager Gunnar Sgolik points out that the stands were set up on their own responsibility and have been positively rated by residents.

The discussion about the participation of young people and all citizens: inside is not just a local concern, but a cornerstone of a lively democracy. The integration of young people into the design of their living conditions and the city's مشروعت is essential to meet their needs. In this context, it is pointed out to the importance of municipal participation, which not only contributes to strengthening social cohesion, but also consolidates the binding of young people to their municipality. This underlines the argument for child and youth participation in municipalities.

The next meeting of the Vegesacker Advisory Board will take place on Monday, June 16, at 6.30 p.m. in the Vegesack local office, Gerhard-Rohlfs-Straße 62, and online. It remains exciting which topics are discussed in detail here and how the concerns of the young people are integrated into these conversations.
