On May 23, 2025, the eagerly awaited neighborhood day took place in Hemelingen, who was excited. Organized by the district marketing Hemelingen e. V. and supported by Vonovia, the event in the garden with a log cabin at Dammerbergstrasse 14 offered a perfect opportunity to strengthen the coexistence of the neighbors. The event started in the early afternoon and lasted until 4:30 p.m. Here, visitors were able to enjoy a varied program that appealed to both large and small participants.

A highlight was the ice cream truck, which only asked for 50 cents for the sweet treats - the rest was taken over thanks to Vonovia. The focus was on fun and fun: the garden turned into a children's paradise with a bouncy castle, a litter game, a game and painting corner as well as face painting. Even the big ones got their money's worth at table football and the international buffet from the Mobile family center. Silke Loose, regional manager of Vonovia, emphasized the importance of such encounters: "They promote the exchange and feeling of community in a quarter," says Loose.

An upcoming survey is intended to help illuminate the wishes and ideas of the residents.
