Construction work affects bus lines: travelers have to reschedule!

from Saturday, June 14th to Monday, June 16, passengers on line RS 2 have to expect some changes. The reason for this is extensive construction work of Deutsche Bahn (DB Infrago AG), which will lead to timetable deviations during this period. As reports [Weser-Kurier] (https://www.weser-kurier.de/landkreis-osterholz/bauarbeit-busse-vorüber- der-Linie-Din-2- Unterwegs-Doc8126jxt4a083FBV8BZR), it will be replaced by buses between Bremerhaven-Lehe and Bremen Central Station (HBF) and between Oldenbüttel and Bremen Hbf. In order to facilitate travel planning, it is recommended to observe the changed travel times in advance.

In addition, a train connection between Bremerhaven-Lehe and Bremerhaven-Wulsdorf will also be served by replacement traffic on Monday, June 16. An important note for all cyclists: Unfortunately, taking bicycles in the replacement buses is not possible. The current timetables and changes can be viewed on the pages of Regiosbahn.de, Bahn.de and Zabplaner.de.

extensive construction work in summer

The changes mentioned are only the tip of the iceberg, because from June to September 2025, DB Infrago AG will carry out construction work on several routes. Not only are the lines RS 1, RS 2 and RS 3, but also RS 4, RS 6 and RS 30. According to Nordwestbahn, this can lead to short-term construction plates or adjustments to the sections of the route. Timings could also change, and not all replacement timetables are already available. However, it is assured that the information will be published in good time so as not to let the travelers down.

train offers and renovations in Germany

Beyond the construction sites in Bremen, there are other important renovation projects in Germany. One example is the full closure of the Riedbahn between Frankfurt am Main and Mannheim, which will take place for several months from July 15, 2024. This emerges from a report by Tagesschau. Here tracks, overhead lines and the course are modernized, which will also lead to significant timetable changes.

Deutsche Bahn has set itself the goal of modernizing over 40 routes in Germany by 2030 in order to optimize rail traffic and increase passenger safety. Even if these measures are necessary, it will be quite challenging for travelers to get used to the new timetables and replacement traffic.

For everyone who rely on the train, it is important to keep an eye on the current information and to adapt to possible delays and surroundings. This ensures a relaxed journey despite the construction work.
