New artificial place in Worpswede: Encounters between art and people!

In Worpswede, the art "Open Space" was launched between the Kunsthalle Netzel and the Tourist Information Tourist Information. This project was initiated by the Worpsweder Foundation, under the direction of chairman Christoph Beyer, with the aim of creating a lively cultural mediation and promoting encounter with art and people. Weser Report reports on a festive inauguration, including planners, craftsmen and sponsors.

The new place, which was designed with a total budget of around 90,000 euros, has great potential to advance the community in its cultural development. Supporters such as the landscape association of the former duchies Bremen and Verden, the VR and EWE foundations as well as the Volksbank Worpswede and the Osterholz district contributed to the financing, while the foundation itself made 25,000 euros available.

a place of encounter and art

The redesigned place is not only a place for relaxation, but also a platform for the exchange about the works of art that are presented in the Kunsthalle. School classes can be found here, and the oak wood furniture comes from the Neumann carpentry. A special attraction are the four large -scale pictures on the wall that come from four museums and offer a dialogue with the works of the Kunsthalle. In addition, the place offers opportunities for your own presentations and film screenings.

The Worpswede Kunsthalle itself is an important hotspot for art lovers and shows a valuable collection that reflects the art history of the region. This is where spring -like compositions of the landscape and melancholic moods come together, inspired by artists such as Otto Modersohn and Heinrich Vogeler, who collected nature in all its facets. Worpswede Museums emphasizes that the Kunsthalle not only presents the first generation of Worpswede painters, but also their successors and thematic special exhibitions.

new challenges for the art scene

While the doors open for new projects in Worpswede, an important voice in the regional art scene has withdrawn. The new Worpsweder Kunstverein (NWWK) will be dissolved after 14 years and 60 exhibitions. The reason for this is a dramatic decline in the number of members, which meant that only about 50 members were still active. Nwwk reports of this decision and the regret about the end of an association that offered many less well -known artists a platform.

The last exhibition of the NWWK is presented by Mendy Arp and Christine Laprell and ends on March 23. Susanne Eilers, the 1st chair, and her colleagues, feel nostalgic and look back at a number of successful exhibitions. Despite the challenges that the art scene is currently going through, the new "Open Space" in Worpswede will hope that culture and art will remain alive and enrich the community.
