B215 renovation from June: traffic jams and diversions at Eystrup and Hassel!

The B215, which is considered the most important north-south connection in the district of Nienburg, is about to have a comprehensive renovation. This measure affects the approximately 5.2 km long section between Eystrup and Hassel. The Lower Saxony State Authority for Road Construction and Transport plans to start working on June 30th and expects completion to be completed by the end of September. The total costs for the roadway repair amount to around 1.6 million euros, with an additional 300,000 euros planned for the renovation of the accompanying bike paths. Complete blocking during the construction work will be necessary to ensure the safety of all road users and to be able to carry out the work quickly.

A first information offer took place on February 26, in which around 30 traders had the opportunity to find out more about the renovation. With further information events, the authority wants to provide transparency by the end of May 2025, especially when it comes to the detour routes. These are determined together with responsible authorities such as the police and the municipalities to ensure that diversions are only set up for the traffic of the corresponding classifications. The district of Nienburg has announced a part of the To carry out work during the summer holidays so as not to overload public transport and school bus traffic.

insights into the renovation measures

The renovation has become necessary because the road in the affected section was severely affected by cracks and crusifications. This is not only a nuisance for the residents, but also represents a risk of traffic, especially in an area that is considered a neuralgic and was affected by serious accidents in the past. Lower Saxony Straßenbau indicates that such measures are essential steps to ensure traffic safety in the long term.

The B215 has a total length of 96 kilometers, of which 63 kilometers lead through the district of Nienburg. The street begins in the Harrienstedt area and ends in Rotenburg an der Northern bypass. Despite the renovation -related disabilities, many road users hope that the measures lead to an improvement in the traffic situation. Especially at neuralgic points, such as about 600 meters in front of Hassel, where school children had to cross the street, a better traffic routing could be relieved.

The residents also have clear expectations regarding the required needs at this critical point. Parents have been committed to more security for a long time after various suggestions for their installation have been discussed over the years, but so far it has remained without implementation. The traffic situation in the area is also influenced by the developing Mittelweser logistics park in Estorf, which is in the immediate vicinity of the B215.

In summary, it can be said that the upcoming renovation work on the B215 should also make an important contribution to increasing traffic safety in the Nienburg district. For all those who rely on this street every day, it is only to be hoped that the work will take place quickly and without major delays.
