Former PSV youth footballers celebrate 50 years of friendship in Essen!

Last weekend, the former youth footballers of the police sports club (PSV) experienced a very special Reunion meeting that took place after 50 years. Organized by Christiane Jansen, born Hauschild, the former kickers met in the "Am Kreuz" restaurant to remind you and to exchange old stories. Christiane, who doesn't play football himself, was always on site because her father was a youth leader and her brothers were active on the pitch. Her brother Hans-Dieter "Haui" Hauschild died last year at the age of 70 and was said goodbye by around 400 mourning. The Hauschild family enjoyed a certain reputation in Essen football circles in the 1970s by founding the football department in PSV, in which the sons of Hans also played.

The search for the old friends was not easy, because many of them no longer live in Essen. Nevertheless, 28 alumni for the meeting managed to mobilize each of them their own experiences and anecdotes. A special absence was noticeable by the absence of Uwe Reinders, who became known as a national player and played at Werder Bremen. He had to cancel due to illness and cannot participate in the meeting. FEVEPITCH reminds that Reinders was nominated for the World Cup in 1992, but was injured in the training camp. A legendary event in his career remains the first obstacle gate in Bundesliga history that he achieved in 1982.

football through time

What makes football so special? The answer is complex. The modern history of football has detailed its roots in England in the 19th century, as Wikipedia. There are indications of old ball games that go back to ancient China. There, football was used as a military training program, while the rules were only gradually developed to make the games safer. In England, various types of football established themselves in schools and universities from the 15th century, and the first official rules were only set up by the Rugby School and the Cambridge Rules in the 19th century.

The development of football in Germany started when Konrad Koch introduced the first German rules in 1874 and the German Football Association (DFB) was founded in 1900. This laid the foundation for the national and international competitive organization by FIFA in 1904. The first World Cup took place in Uruguay in 1930, and the sport has been captivating millions since then.

Despite the big changes and developments, football remains a formative experience for many people. At the meeting of the PSV gold, it became clear that the memories of past games and friendships never fade, regardless of where life leads you. Christiane Jansen, who is affected by the absence of her brother, experienced through the meeting of how these memories remain connected and that the passion for football continues to live.
