Bremen celebrates: First hands-on biomarkt Supercoop will open soon!

Friedrich-Ebert-Straße 26, 28203 Bremen, Deutschland - In Bremen something is happening: The first participatory biomarkt, Supercoop does not only open its doors Fresh, regional organic products, but also a new shopping experience. The opening is planned for the last quarter of 2025 and takes place at Friedrich-Ebert-Straße 26, corner of Neustadtswall. With a lot of commitment, a market is set up here that relies on community responsibility, transparency and sustainability.

The concept of Supercoop is simple and yet revolutionary: members of the cooperative invest a single -time 100 euros and get involved with three hours of work a month. "This reduces personnel costs and enables us to keep prices low," says the management team. Each member has a vote in the cooperative and can have a say in the range, prices and processes. This not only bought, but also actively designed.

jointly for regional products

The focus of Supercoop is clearly on the promotion of regional, seasonal and fair traded organic products. Every product that is on the shelves comes on the table under fair trade conditions, which makes members proud. Another advantage: the market is only accessible to members. This promotes identification with the project and creates a strong sense of community.

So far,

have already registered 280 people as members, the goal of 400 to make the project economically viable. "It is nice to see that over 700 people have already shown interest in membership," said Claire Klindt, one of the board members. If you are interested in the concept, you can find out more on the website

Overall, the concept is based on successful models from cities such as Berlin, Munich, Paris and Geneva. The need for fair, regional food has also increased massively in Bremen. The hands-on market could therefore build on Bremen consumption habits at the right time and help to strengthen the local economy. A good step in the direction of a more sustainable future.
