A musical celebration is imminent in Bremen: On Saturday, September 10th, the meeting center plus, Helene Kaisen neighborhood house, invites you to a special event entitled “A Festival of Love”. From 3 p.m. there will be a moderator Jürgen Ferber delight the audience with a colorful mix of hits and love hymns from different decades.
The event starts with an instrumental success by the Billy Vaughn Orchestra from the 1960s and also offers a variety of other musical performances. Visitors can look forward to a medley by Lys Assia, German chansons from the 60s and performances by greats such as Andrea Berg, Kristina Bach and Klaus and Klaus. Newer hits from the Flippers and Beatrice Egli (in a duet with Eloy de Jong) will not be missing either. The musical experience is rounded off with sing-along hits from Drafi Deutscher and Conny Froboess, with Willy Hagara creating a nostalgic atmosphere with “Girls from Flanders”.
A dedicated moderator
Jürgen Ferber, the 80-year-old presenter, has an impressive career behind him. He has been organizing music lectures in the Helene Kaisen neighborhood house since 2002 and has successfully held over 200 of these events. Ferber, who has had a passion for music since childhood, also has an impressive trove of over 3,000 recordings in his possession. He has managed the content of the neighborhood house since 2006 and has managed to harmoniously combine music and personal stories.
Its programs are not only popular locally; The guests come from different parts of the city and even from further away places such as Hude, Osterholz-Scharmbeck and Syke. Elfriede Schmidt, a 90-year-old participant, praises Ferber's commitment, while Dieter Meyer, 83, has developed a close friendship with him. Ferber himself feels fit and has many new ideas for events in the future, including special dance evenings such as “Beat on the Rock(s)” and the “Teenage Revival Party”.
Event details
The “Festival of Love” lasts around two hours and is interrupted by a short break at 4 p.m. Those interested can look forward to coffee and cake from 2.30 p.m. before the musical spectacle begins. Admission is only 3 euros and registration can be done by calling 691 45 80. This not only creates an entertaining afternoon, but also a meeting point for music lovers and neighbors from a lively community.
