Shots in Seckenhausen: Police reconstructs alleged attempted murder

In a brutal incident in Stuhr-Seckenhausen, two men were seriously injured on April 5, 2025 by shots from a moving car. At 3:30 p.m., the shots fell on the two men who were on a property with friends. The emergency services were quickly on hand and took the injured to the hospital. The public prosecutor's office in Verden has classified the crime as an attempted murder. In order to get to the bottom of the shocking incident, a murder commission called "Container" was set up.

This day, June 3, 2025, the police have again visited the crime scene on Delmenhorster Straße, a heavily frequented route (B322), to reconstruct the process of the terrifying incident. During the reconstruction, the Delmenhorster Straße between the intersection B51 and the confluence with Diepholzer Strasse was closed from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. The purpose of this measure was to make the danger of the crime clear and to encourage possible witnesses to report.

Details on the escape vehicle

The vehicle from which the shots have been handed over has not yet been identified. It is a black VW Passat Variant, type B8, with HB license plate. According to the investigation, the car came from the direction of B6 on the day and fled to the shots towards B51, possibly further towards A1. The police called the population, especially to report information on the vehicle and observations about the crime to the Diepholz police station on 05441/9710.

The resurrection of such brutal incidents raises questions about the current security situation. According to the statistical survey of Statista, the police crime statistics for 2024 show a decline in crime by 1.7 % to around 5.84 million cases in Germany. Nevertheless, the feeling of security of many citizens remains impaired, especially in urban areas such as Bremen. The most common crimes that are recorded in the statistics include thefts, asset and counterfeiting crimes as well as crimes, with crimes against life such as murder and homicide taking a low framework.

With the experience from the reconstruction in Seckenhausen, the police will continue to determine under high pressure in order to clarify the background of this act of violence. The residents are asked to be vigilant and provide relevant information on the clarification of the case.

The events in Seckenhausen not only focus on determining and clarifying a terrible act, but also shed light on the larger connections within crime development in Germany, including our region.
