But there are a few things to consider here: Group participation is only possible with prior registration, and the registration deadline for groups ends on July 7, 2025. However, individuals can take part without registration. Dusel In order to show something of the hustle and bustle, everyone can use the opportunity to provide an information stand or sales stand on the ricks, for which registration is also required by July 7th. The story of Christopher Street Day

But what is actually behind this colorful? The CSD looks back on an eventful story that extends to the Stonewall riots in 1969. These protests were the starting signal for one of the most important emancipation movements of the LGBTQ+community. The beginning of this movement in New York shows how important it is to stand up for equality and acceptance. Since the first CSD parade in Berlin in 1979, which was visited by around 450 lesbians and gays, the CSD has developed into a platform that extends far beyond the city limits and attracts hundreds of thousands of participants.

in Germany, especially here in Bremen, the commitment is also not neglected. The CSD Bremen + Bremerhaven e.V. was launched in 2016. The association, which is organized on a voluntary basis, has set itself the task of planning and implementing the CSD demonstrations. The members are always interested in the further development of their claims and actively involve the community in the process. This is not only important for strong cooperation, but also ensures that the event happens cheerfully and loudly for the goals of equality.

Current challenges and possibilities of participation

In the meantime, interested parties can look forward to a variety of actions and stands. The club members, who often sacrifice their free time, manage to spread solidarity and joy. Participants are also asked to draw attention to the common motto and the underlying demands with banners and posters. The openly designed model of the teams also enables queer refugees to actively participate without having to fear discrimination.

From joint planning to implementation, the CSD Bremen sets a strong sign against prejudice and discrimination. The next big parade, which will take place in August, is a festival and at the same time a demonstration for a colorful Bremen that lives diversity. So if you don't play the idea of becoming part of the CSD yourself, you should take the chance and register! All information on this can be found on CSD Bremen and CSD Bremen + Bremerhaven
