Construction work at the Bremen-Mitte Clinic: Sankt-Jürgen-Straße closed from 2026!
In Bremen a lot is happening! As part of the redesign of the Hulsberg quarter, the Bremen-Mitte Clinic will go through extensive renovation measures from 2026. As the Weser-Kurier carried out until March 2028, with an extension option existed by 2029. The closures are necessary because the renovation measures must be carried out in an open construction.
The planning not only provides for a temporary closure of the Sankt-Jürgen-Straße, but also the installation of a light signal system on Lessingstrasse/corner of Humboldtstrasse. This should enable the pupil: inside the Tove-Jansson School. The advisory board also calls for a new bus stop in front of the clinic and a barrier -free pedestrian crossing.
groundbreaking for the new quarter
The official groundbreaking ceremony for the Hulsberg district that is being built on the former site of the clinic recently took place. Under the direction of Bausenatorin Özlem ünsal (SPD) it starts with the road construction work, as Buten and inland . By 2029, more than 1,000 apartments are to be built to counteract the lack of living space in Bremen. The work is carried out in two phases, with four of the six new streets being created first.
The sewage system and preparatory work for electricity and water connections are also done in the first construction phase. Some of private investors are already successfully built and inhabited, on the edge of the new quarter. These are easily connected to the existing supply lines, while infrastructure measures still have to be prepared for further buildings and paths.
A look into the future
The major project leaves traces far beyond the conversion measures. As the platform dbabau shows, there are many construction projects in Bremen that combine urban development and sustainable building. The focus is on not only to create modern living space, but also to implement climate -friendly and future -proof concepts. The DBA platform offers a look at projects that focus on a positive transformation of the city.
The construction work around the Bremen-Mitte Clinic and the emergence of the Hulsberg district are just examples of active urban development that takes place in the Hanseatic city. It remains exciting how the infrastructure and the range of housing in Bremen will change in the coming years.
