New Yorker opens new mega store in the Lloydhof in Bremen!

In the heart of Bremen, something happens: The clothing company New York moves to the Lloydhof. In the future, this location will occupy most of the approximately 3000 square meter area on the ground floor. Report by Weser-Kurier Status of this exquisite space after the owner, the owner who DLH Bremen GmbH, had difficulty finding a suitable tenant. Before that, negotiations with local business people for a logistics center have failed.

DLH Bremen GmbH belongs to the family of SAP founder Hasso Plattner and was finally able to conclude a rental contract with New Yorker. A spokesman for the DLH confirmed that this agreement was formalized about two weeks ago, but did not name the new tenant. New Yorker, headquartered in Braunschweig and over 1200 branches in 50 countries, is already active in four other locations in Bremen, and the move to the Lloydhof could also have an impact on the existing branch in Obernstrasse. This is heavily frequented and offers little space for customers.

conversion of the Lloydhof

The contract for the ground floor in the Lloydhof will come into force at the beginning of next year. About three months are planned for the planned interior design. After more than seven years of planning and construction, the building complex will now be fully occupied. This makes the Lloydhof a key project in the city center - a revitalization that is also strongly supported by the Bremen business development agency.

As reporting the local economic development itself, the sale of the Lloydhof is completely completed. The purchase contract between DLH Bremen GmbH and WFB Wirtschaftsförderung Bremen GmbH has been signed, and the goal is to redesign the Lloydhof as a "living house". In addition to the large retail range, gastronomic facilities as well as apartments and offices are planned. On the first four upper floors there will be space for offices and apartments, ideal for urban visitors and business travelers. The first floor will accommodate a gym, and the fifth floor will come up with a skybar and a restaurant.

building investments and market development

Totally, 33 million euros flow into the conversion of the Lloydhof. This investment is in the context of increasing construction prices, as also confirm the data of the Federal Statistical Office. The construction price index not only shows the producer sales prices for the construction industry, but also provides insights into the price development for new buildings. Of course, this also affects future projects in many cities, including Bremen, where you are hoping for a flourishing city center.

Martin Günthner, Bremen's Senator for Economy, emphasizes that this is an important contribution to urban development. Andreas Heyer, chairman of the WFB management, was satisfied with the sales of the sales after a Europe-wide tender procedure was completed in March 2017. The successful sales price was 21.5 million euros. The Lloydhof thus remains a central point in the city center of Bremen, which is to be stimulated by the new restructuring.

Overall, the transformation of the Lloydhof will be exciting for both residents and visitors. The new concept could lift the city center to a new level and bring a fresh wind to the shopping landscape.
