Blumenthal celebrates the summer festival: fun, music and Ethiopian coffee ceremony!

Blumenthal, Deutschland - On June 28th, the eagerly awaited summer festival will take place in Blumenthal, and Schillerplatz turns into a living center of the community from 2 to 6 p.m. Under the motto "celebrated together in the district", the organizers Carola Schulz from the district management Blumenthal, Johanna Schwarz, Alicia Berhardt from the documentation and cultural center Blumenthal and the Blumenthal working group invite you to celebrate together. Weser Kurier reports that an exciting program is waiting for the guests.

From craft campaigns to climbing walls to great dance and music performances- entertainment and fun is provided. A special highlight of the festival will be the Ethiopian coffee ceremony, which is carried out by a Blumenthal resident. This custom is more than just a coffee enjoyment; It is a social experience that combines generations and strengthens community. Coffee Circle explains that the preparation of the exquisite beans is done with care and dedication and the ceremony often takes several hours.

The JeBena, a traditional clay vessel, is in the center of the ceremony in which the freshly roasted and ground coffee beans are prepared. Hot water is poured onto the coffee flour and the coffee is then served in small, colorful cups. The first cup, called 'Arbol', symbolizes joy and health, while the second cup, 'Tona', serves to discuss conflicts. The last round, 'Bereka', brings blessings. Nuru coffee explains that during the ceremony, local snacks such as popcorn or roasted barley are often served, which further promotes exchange and conviviality.

The summer festival is not only enriched by the coffee ceremony. The Northern Bremen citizens' initiative against the war offers olive oil from Crete, the proceeds of which benefit farmers. There will also be a wide range of creative offers, including from the parent initiative Balu, the Free Waldorf School Bremen-Nord and the Water Tower Children's and Family Center.

a festival for the whole family

With a free entry, the event team would like to give all families the opportunity to spend a nice afternoon. In the previous year, the festival attracted around 600 visitors, who discovered many interesting offers at around 20 stands. The Blumenthal police will be present on the pitch with a patrol car to ensure security, while Seilgarten Lesum with a bouncy castle and box climbing ensures fun and games.

Some musical talent is also offered: children from a transition home will sing, the hip-hop group of the documentation and cultural center appears, and the Bremen band "Finding Evie" and the septet "Olla Ketal" will provide musical entertainment. Furthermore, information stands from the planning office in Hamburg, the Bremen Consumer Center and the “Digital Impact Lab” project are represented.

The summer festival in Blumenthal promises a colorful mix of culture, community and culinary delights. So it is worth visiting Schillerplatz on June 28th and celebrating together!
