Festival Maritim: 25 years of music, ferris wheel and fun on the Weser!

The "Festival Maritim" in Bremen-Vegesack is in the starting blocks and celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2025. The event, which has blossomed into Bremen's most popular major events over the years, takes place from 1. to 3 August. The musical palette ranges from rock, punk and Celtic metal to shanty, folk and pop. The festival is known for its peaceful and happy atmosphere, which the police rated consistently positively. New this year are the culinary highlights along the festival mile that promise a “culinary world tour”, and the exciting attractions such as a 33 -meter -high ferris wheel from the Hanstein showman family.

A colorful program for the whole family

For the little visitors there is a comprehensive children's program that promises a lot of fun and adventure. In addition, the “Weserart” artisan market in the boathouse offers a variety of regional craftsmanship. Six bands will be on stage for the first time this year, including "Akab", the French band, which connects sailor songs and folk music with punk, as well as the "sailor brides", which will inspire with humorous performances by seafaring songs. "Back Beach Boyz" and "Connemara Stone Company" are also ready to put the audience in the right mood with their maritime folk and Celtic folklore.

The festival not only offers musical delicacies, but also a number of culinary contact points. For example, you can enjoy delicious dishes and drinks at the "Paloma Beach Bar" at the signal station or at the "blue whale" on the whale faces while you let the maritime atmosphere work on you.

A look over the Weser

As a maritime place, Vegesack has a lot to offer, so it is hardly surprising that further maritime inspired events in the region like Stade in Lower Saxony are mentioned as Hanseatic ports. The festival is considered not only a highlight in Bremen, but also as part of a larger cultural offer that celebrates the joy of music and conviviality. Festival-maritim.de emphasizes that the event is known for its relaxed and happy character, which makes it an attractive goal for music lovers and families.

On Sunday evening, a spectacular finale with Shanty Slam, sparklers and an impressive fireworks display round off the festival. The entire program promises to become a festival for the senses and to captivate the visitors.
