Preparations for the redesign of Goldbergplatz in Burglesum are picking up speed. The advisory board committee for construction and urban development recently dealt more intensively with the results of a citizen participation, which took place last autumn. In this context, the Bremen-Nord building office presented the evaluation and identified several priorities that could significantly shape the future of the square.

Among the ideas collected is the implementation of a current infrastructure at the top of the list. Another concern is the improvement of accessibility so that space becomes accessible to all users. Local families primarily want play equipment, while older citizens emphasize the need for special city furniture. These proposals are responsible for the Office for Roads and Transport and could be financed by the ASV district. Some measures could even be realized at short notice to achieve quickly visible results.

The resident Dorothea Lewandowski, who is also the owner of the traditional restaurant Futterpeter, expressed her concerns about the ineffectiveness of the results obtained so far from the participation. She sees the game growth problem between the paving stones as an urgent task. In summer, space is often populated by children who splash around in the fountain - however, it is often too high for small adventurers. In addition, the place on weekends is often a meeting point for drinkers who not only leave garbage, but also unsettle other visitors.

In the discussion about the place of space, advisory board member Milad Sadid stated from the FDP to equip tall trees with lighting in order to improve the quality of stay and reduce undesirable alcohol consumption. He also offered to develop a concept for the installation of play equipment free of charge. In this context, it can be seen that public places act as important places of meeting - as well as some studies on public spaces. These places are not only traffic space, but also offer a wide range of functions for community cooperation.
