Curling Cup in Vegesack: Winter competition with mulled wine and fun!

In Vegesack, one of the beautiful corners of Bremen, a very special event will take place again this winter: the traditional curling cup. This competition, which is already an integral part of the Vegesack event calendar, attracts over 120 teams from all over the region in peak years. Oliver Trey, a well-known restaurateur, has taken over responsibility for the organization again after the management of Vegesack Marketing passed to him. The tournament is scheduled to start on Thursday, October 27th. The venue is the specially built curling rink at the Ellipse, which has a covered terrace and 120 seats and will host the competitions in a cozy atmosphere.

The track is a plastic track from a Swiss manufacturer and is 16 meters long and 2 meters wide. A wider track was not possible for safety reasons, but the smooth surface and high gliding ability of the track promise exciting competitions. Two teams compete together in each game with the aim of placing their ice sticks as close as possible to the target stone. The organization of the tournament is taken over by the Weserjungs team, which also coordinates the referee functions better.

Festive atmosphere and cosiness

To accompany the exciting competitions, the Ellipse is transformed into a winter market place with all sorts of delicacies. Visitors can ice skate on the artificial ice all week long, and various stalls offer punch, mulled wine and winter snacks. A special highlight for younger visitors is the carousel, which creates a jovial atmosphere. If you would like to find out more about the event or register to take part, you can find comprehensive information on the website allesbremen.de.

The first registrations for the teams are possible at Vegefest on Sunday, October 5th. An information stand will be set up from 1 p.m. where interested teams can find out about participation and the competition rules. Despite the fixed start, later registrations are also open, although the participation fees, which are based on previous years, have yet to be finalized (final fee: 35 euros per team).

Curling – a sport for everyone

Curling, also known as “winter curling”, is becoming increasingly popular and is not only a sporting competition, but also an excellent opportunity to promote team spirit and communication within the team. The game is suitable for companies of all sizes and is accessible to all age groups thanks to its low physical requirements. The event offers a relaxed atmosphere and creates a good mood among the participants - this increases the motivation to act and laugh together. The flexibility in the number of participants, which can range from 10 to 100 people, makes it an ideal choice for different groups.

A successful event in a festive winter backdrop awaits participants and visitors in Vegesack. Here you can not only get excited about the competitions, but also enjoy the wintry cosiness of the region. Further details about the Eisstock Cup can also be found at evinta.de.
