New enjoyment in Borgfeld: TSV opens modern boules courts!
A new sporting opportunity for all boules enthusiasts and those who want to become one: TSV Borgfeld has built two new boules courts at its sports facility at Hamfhofsweg 55. The official opening of the cable cars is coming up and promises to be a social event. On Thursday, October 9th, at 10 a.m., the club will open its gates to the general public and cordially invites members and guests to try out the sport of boules. Maike Schulten, board member of the club, will provide information about the new tracks during the opening ceremony and also introduce the club's newly founded boules sports division. Those interested can look forward to exciting conversations and a relaxing day, as their physical well-being will of course be taken care of.
The Borgfeld gymnastics and sports club from 1948 e.V. is the largest club in the district and has around 1,900 members. The extensive infrastructure includes, among other things, gymnastics halls, a clubhouse and access to school and ball sports halls in the area. The latest offering, the boules courts, fits perfectly into the club's diverse portfolio. In the future, Hans Paterkiewicz will act as the contact person for all questions relating to boules, so that interested players from the district can quickly find the right contact. More information about the activities of TSV Borgfeld can be found here.
Also get active in the morning
For those who can't get enough after the opening of the boules courts, TSV Borgfeld is offering a hike with Maria the very next day, October 10th. The 5 to 8 kilometer route promises another enjoyable communal experience. The meeting point is at 9 a.m. at the club premises in Borgfeld. It is not necessary to register in advance, although sturdy shoes are recommended. This shows how the club responds not only to the needs of athletes, but also to hiking enthusiasts.
The new boules courts are available now and can be played on after the opening. With these tracks, TSV Borgfeld has created another place for leisure and sporting activity that is very popular with members and the entire neighborhood. In 2023, the German Pétanque Association (DPV) recorded over 1,500 new members, which also signals an increase in interest in boules in general. These developments give hope for a positive future for boules in Germany. Those interested can find further details on the website of the German Disabled Sports Association.
If you are interested in joining the sports association or would like more information about activities, you can contact the TSV by phone at 0421-273620 or by email at tsv-borgfeld@t-online.de. The joy of sport and the community await everyone - perhaps while playing boules on the new TSV Borgfeld courts.
