SC Borgfeld experienced a bumpy start to the season in the North Regional Football League. In their home stadium, the players led by captain Kiarasch Valiani suffered a 0-2 defeat against FC Eintracht Norderstedt on August 10, 2025. The North German Football Association (NFV) has launched a B-junior regional league north for the 2025/2026 season. The aim of this new competition is to promote talent after the B-Junior Bundesliga was canceled in 2023. This was also supported by many teams who longed for a structured league to sustainably strengthen girls' football. The U17 regional league is played with ten teams, with a simple return round consisting of a total of 16 match days. Nordfv reports that the regular round is followed by placement games that are organized depending on the standings.
The regional league represents an important step in promoting girls' football in northern Germany and could also open up new perspectives for SC Borgfeld in the coming years. With the right impulses, the club spirit in Borgfeld can be further strengthened among both men and women.
