Nicolai Hastedt will head the Federal Association of Logistics from October!
On October 1, 2025, the Federal Association of Logistics (BVL) will change in management. The 54-year-old Nicolai Hastedt takes over the position of the commercial manager and will lead the office together with Christoph Meyer. Eurotransport and communication in the club work. Christoph Meyer remains responsible for the content, events such as BVL Supply Chain CX as well as for marketing, sales and seminars.
Nicolai Hastedt brings a rich horizon of experience. Most recently, he worked as a commercial manager at the Hans Freitag Group, where he drove company development. Before that, he held the commercial management of the Zeaaborn group in the shipping industry for almost seven years. His career is characterized by various positions, including as a senior consultant at Fides management consultancy and in controlling at Arcelormittal and the Sparkasse Bremen. He was also involved as treasurer of the German Alpine Club Section Bremen, where he was able to gain years of club experience.
The new leadership tip
The BVL has had a three -person management since April 1, 2021. In addition to Christoph Meyer, Mike J. Holtkamp, who joined the BVL as a commercial manager on February 15, 2021. Holtkamp was previously a commercial manager at Fuchs Wisura GmbH in Bremen and is responsible for financial and personnel area, event organization and purchasing. Hafenzeitung indicates that Uwe Peters, who headed the BVL from 2004 until his retirement in 2021, to his side.
The overall responsibility for the BVL lies with Prof. Thomas Wimmer, the CEO since March 2020. Under his leadership, the organization takes care of press work, committee contacts as well as important projects such as the MX Award and the German Logistics Prize. Dr. Christian Grotemeier, who has been part of the BVL since 2014, is responsible for marketing, sales, product development, seminars, digitization and IT.
This change at the head of the BVL shows how dynamic the industry is and that fresh ideas are needed to be able to cope with current challenges in logistics. With Nicolai Hastedt at the top, the BVL will certainly set new impulses that are of great interest to many members.
