SV Hemelingen causes a sensation in Bremen amateur football. Under the direction of the coach Feyhat and Günter Tuncel, who took over the club 14 years ago, the team worked up from the modest beginnings in the district league to the championship in the Bremen League. The beginnings were anything but light. When Feyhat and Günter took responsibility, there were not only a few jerseys, but also a small number of players in training and hardly any support. To prevent the descent, Feyhat even jumped in as a player. In this rough early days, Günter took care of the A-youth with 20 committed young people who gave everything to master the challenges. The first promotion to the Landesliga was necessary to strengthen identification with the club, and players like Clinton Helmdach stayed in the club for a long time and contributed significantly to success.

Prejudices against coaches with a migration background have been built over the years, but remain in parts. Feyhat and Günter Tuncel, even from a refugee family, are also involved outside of the sports for refugees and show how important social integration is. At SV Hemelingen, skin color and nationality does not matter - the team is multicultural and combines players from different countries of origin.

The way to success was full of small hurdles. The coaches worked on a voluntary basis for the first few years and organized everything themselves, often with their own financial means, for example to procure tickets for players. Problems with rooms make it difficult for the training and friendly games. But the exchange with the sports office has now improved considerably, which has opened up new opportunities for the association.

The coaching range also shows in their commitment - so they have the clear focus on the regional league after they have just failed in promotion games in recent years. Even if there is no formal trainer contract, the oral agreements are stable. This flexibility let you look strengthened and determined to look at the next challenges.

On May 26, 2025, the association also became a double winner after winning the lottery cup and thus qualified for the DFB Cup. Enjoyable examples such as the 8-1 victory against Tura Bremen, who gave the players the necessary self-confidence, show that SV Hemelingen is willing to survive in the highest league. The club thanks the opposing teams for sporting fairness about every win.
