Bremer Shakespeare Company celebrates 30 years of Shakespeare in the park!

In the heart of Bremen, the anticipation increases for a very special event: The Bremen Shakespeare Company is celebrating the 30th anniversary of its open-air event "Shakespeare im Park" this year.

On August 20th it will be hot again on the Melcherswiese in the community park when the first performance of "A midsummer Night’s Dream" enchants the audience at 7:30 p.m. In total, 14 performances are planned from 20 to August 31, including classics such as "Macbeth" and "Hamlet", but also exciting guest performances such as "To Hell with Paradise" from the Batida Theater from Denmark. The ensemble will set special accents this year and offer the pieces in both German and English and Turkish language to address a wide audience.

A special highlight will be the anniversary celebration on August 23 at 7:30 p.m., in which the ensemble looks back in a festive mood for the theater tradition that has grown over three decades in the Bremen Bürgerpark. This will not only be a festival for the viewers, but also a tribute to the many talents that have been on this stage over the years.

As part of the preparations, the ensemble met on board the passenger ship "Marie" for a tour that not only served to take souvenir photos, but also to fuel the anticipation for the upcoming ideas. Citizens' park director Tim Großmann was also on board and was pleased with the creative staging and the desired connection between theater and nature. The actors' costumes also ensured an impressive picture, while they warmly welcomed the walkers in the park. In the event of bad weather, the theater management will decide until 3 p.m. on the presentation day about taking the performance - and the cards purchased keep their validity for the next season.
