A traffic accident in Bremen-Vahr causes frightened faces. On Monday afternoon, a twelve-year-old girl was hit by a car as she tried to cross Kurt-Schumacher-Allee with a 13-year-old friend. Police reported on Tuesday that the girl had to be taken to the hospital with a fractured arm. Witnesses reported that the two girls ignored a red light to quickly get to a waiting tram. The driver, a 48-year-old man, was traveling in the left lane heading into the city and hit the girl when he drove into the green light. But that wasn't the only state of emergency in Bremen-Vahr. Just a few days later, on Thursday afternoon, there was another serious traffic accident. A 43-year-old driver lost consciousness, presumably due to a medical emergency, and his Volkswagen left the road and collided with street signs before crashing into a tree. The incident occurred at 4:35 p.m. in the area of the Schneverdinger Straße stop. Fortunately, first responders provided immediate support. The seriously injured driver was taken to a nearby hospital for inpatient treatment. Here too, the police have started an investigation to clarify the exact circumstances of what happened. These incidents are not isolated, either My Bremen reported.
A worrying picture
