SVGO women are waiting for their first win against TSV Intschede!

The SV Grambke-Oslebshausen women's handball team is facing an exciting home game against TSV Intschede. After a disappointing start to the season with two defeats, the SVGO players are looking for their first positive experience this season. The last appearance against Tostedt didn't go as planned despite an impressive catch-up. With a half-time score of 10:19, they had to admit defeat 28:31 in the end, which prompted coach Thies Libchen to make a clear appeal to his team: “We have to start the game better from the start,” was his demand. There are also personnel concerns in the squad: Alina Dähn is expected to be sidelined for four weeks due to a foot injury, and Cynthia Hett will also not be available. Meanwhile, they are happy about the return of Alina von Leesen, who could give the team new impetus. Leonie Rix remains a key player for the team as the only close-range specialist.

SVGO's home game takes place on Saturday at 4 p.m. At the same time, HSG Schwanewede/Neuenkirchen will play at 6:15 p.m. against TuS Bergen, who also go into the game with no points. Coach Thorben Kruse also sees the start of this season as challenging, but does not expect the team from Bergen to surprise. In their previous games, the HSG suffered defeats against ATSV Habenhausen II (27:37) and HC Bremen (23:28), which reduced the team to zero points in the table. The open defense and attack efficiency were topics in training in order to stop the trend and get the first points of the season.

Signs and duels

One can be particularly excited about the duel between Greta Petersen (SVGO) and Paula Binder (Intschede), after all, both athletes already played beach handball together. Such personal relationships can often be crucial in such games. The SVGO coach, Thies Libchen, sees a spark of hope in the second half performance against Tostedt: If this intensity and commitment is shown from the start, the team could achieve their first win of the season.

In the broader league, HSG fans have to be prepared for the team having to assert itself in the national league. The teams in the association league, such as TuS Bergen and other teams, are even more difficult to evaluate because the games are usually not filmed and information has to be collected in order to analyze the challenges ahead. However, fans will be able to watch their teams' games across the House of Lords next weekend, where some exciting clashes are on the cards.

Outlook for the junior teams

The coming week will also be extremely active for the various youth teams at HSG Schwanewede/Neuenkirchen. On Saturday, September 27th, a total of six teams will start in action, ranging from the youngest in the preliminary round to the older youth teams in various leagues. There is great anticipation and the games also offer the smaller teams the opportunity to prove themselves and gain experience.

The SVGO women in the active sector have every opportunity to establish themselves in the scene and it remains exciting to see how this young season will develop. “There's still something going on in Bremen,” you could say, because the local handball teams are ready to give it their all. Follow the games and support your team!
