Bremen Freimarkt 2025: New things about free tickets and mega fireworks!
The popular Freimarktfest will be celebrated in Bremen in a few weeks. On October 17th, the Bremen Freimarkt opens its doors for the 990th time and once again attracts almost 300 showmen. How butenunbinnen.de reported, there are numerous attractions available to visitors, including five large rides and 15 children's rides. The festival opens with a spectacular fireworks display at 9:45 p.m.
The opening times of the Freimarkt are as follows: On the Bürgerweide it runs from Sunday to Thursday from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. and on Fridays and Saturdays until midnight. On the opening day, the gates will be opened at 4 p.m., and on October 25th, the day of the traditional open market parade, a diverse program awaits visitors from 12 p.m. On Reformation Day, October 30th, the Freimarkt is open until midnight.
Last chance for the free ticket
Especially in 2024, the showmen expect children and young people to spend around 1.2 million euros. The decision to change the free ticket regulation was made as part of the Senate's budget planning for the next few years. It remains to be seen how the showmen will react to these developments.
Safety and notices
Another important point is security on the open market. There are strict bans on weapons, knives, glass bottles, fireworks, dogs, bicycles, e-scooters, rocker vests and large bags on the premises. For this reason, it is recommended to leave backpacks at home. For personal safety, there will be awareness teams wearing purple vests to assist with harassment and assault, in addition to police and security on site throughout the festival.
It is important for drivers to know that there are no parking spaces directly at the Freimarkt. Instead, we recommend using the parking spaces at the university or switching to public transport to get to the festival site stress-free.
