Energy account sells wind farm in Scotland to Uniper - a mega project!
The Energiekontor AG, an important player in the development and operation of wind and solar parks based in Bremen, took an important step: On June 10, 2025, the company sold a Scottish wind farm project to Uniper. This project, which is located in the picturesque southwest of Scotland, has an impressive total generation performance of around 46 megawatts, which will make it an important part of renewable energy supply in the region. Buyer is Uniper UK, a subsidiary of the Düsseldorf energy company Uniper, which focuses on sustainable forms of energy.
The planned project provides for the construction of seven modern wind energy systems of the Nordex N163 type. Each of these systems has a maximum total height of 200 meters and a rotor diameter of 163 meters. With a forecast annual energy generation of around 158 gigawatt hours, the wind farm will be able to supply over 66,000 households with electricity. Even after commissioning, energy consumption will continue to be responsible for the care and optimization of the wind farm. This is another sign of how committed the company is in sustainable energy generation.
successful auctions and future plans
The sale falls into a time when energy container significantly strengthens its position in the area of renewable energies. In October 2023, the company successfully participated in a tender for the British Department for Energy Security and Net Zero and received a so -called difference contract (Contract for Difference, CFD). This inflation -bound feed -in tariff gives the project a financial security that is essential for long -term planning.
Energiekontor was founded in Bremerhaven in 1990 and has built an impressive portfolio since then. The company currently operates 39 wind and solar parks with a total output of around 444 megawatts, and another 160 megawatts are under construction. In order to advance the expansion, Energiekontor is pursuing the ambitious strategy of realizing wind and solar parks regardless of state grants at market prices.
international presence and investments
currently has energy account in several German cities as well as in England, Scotland, Portugal, France and the USA. In recent years, the company has successfully implemented around 170 projects with a total of almost 1.5 gigawatts, whereby the entire investment volume is approximately 2.2 billion euros. The project pipeline for the 2024 financial year continues to comprise a whopping 11.2 gigawatts without taking into account the US project law.
CEO Peter Szabo expressed a lot about project progress and the upcoming collaboration with Uniper.
