Kita disaster in Bremen: Every second preschooler speaks German!
Gröpelingen, Deutschland - in Bremen shows a current survey that about every second preschool child has difficulty speaking the German language correctly. "We urgently need more trained staff in order to be able to respond to the needs of these children," said a spokesman for the staff council. He also fears that new legal framework conditions could further tighten the situation.
The influence of the new daycare law
The new daycare quality law, which has been in force since January 1, 2025, aims to improve the quality of care in daycare centers nationwide. The federal government has agreed to provide around eight billion euros by the end of 2026. This law was developed to implement the recommendations of the "Early Education" working group and sets clear standards for linguistic education.
