Bremen celebrates diversity: Open food for everyone on September 8th!

On Monday, September 8th, 2025, the Bremen train station forecourt will be transformed into a colorful meeting place for all Bremen residents. On this day, the Bremer Suppenengel invite you to their “Open meal for everyone”, which brings with it a happy summer festival. The event aims to bring people from different social and cultural backgrounds together and create a feeling of unity. Around 400 participants came last year, and a similar response is expected this year, as Weser-Kurier reports.

Social Senator Claudia Schilling will open the festival at 1 p.m. Afterwards, the musical entertainment from “Club Vulcano” will ensure a good atmosphere from 1:30 p.m. In addition to the musical setting, there will also be a show cooking at 3 p.m. with the experienced Bremen chefs Natalie Shtefunyk and Jan-Philipp Iwersen. At 4:30 p.m. the communal meal is planned, which will be prepared with a lot of love on site - supported by numerous volunteers who work at two field kitchens.

Experience and enjoy diversity

The event not only stands for culinary delicacies, but also for the diversity that Bremen has to offer. In addition to coffee, cake and hot meals, the Barber Angels Brotherhood will also be on site to offer free hairdressing services. It's a great example of how engagement and a sense of community can come together to foster a sense of belonging, as [Living Quarter](https://www.livingquarter.de/feste-und- Feiern-in-einrichtung-integration-und-gemeinschaft/) shows.

The right to participation and well-being for people from all walks of life is a central aspect of this event. Basically, the focus is on promoting integration and social cohesion. Festivities like this “Open Meal for All” not only create a platform for the exchange of cultures, but also support integration through shared experiences and respectful cooperation.

Common goals and partners

The Bremer Suppenengel rely on cooperation and partnership. The event is supported by several organizations, including the Association of Reservists of the German Bundeswehr e.V., the Bremer Tafel e.V., Restaurant Küche 13 and many more. This collaboration shows how important it is to use different actors to create an inclusive community.

The “Open Meal for All” is therefore more than just a feast. It is an invitation to everyone in Bremen, regardless of their social background, to come together and have a great time together. In Bremen it is clear: diversity brings people closer and connects them. The event starts at 1 p.m. and ends at 7 p.m. Join us and experience community in a whole new way!
