Loud Yacht.de This is the fourth cruising yacht of the sailing community Das Wappen von Bremen, which has existed since 1934. The tradition of the club, which was originally founded as a yachting school, places a strong focus on the training of its members.
The history of the previous yacht, the “Wappen von Bremen III”, which provided loyal service for over 34 years, is particularly exciting. Made from Kambala wood, it had become so worn that a general overhaul was necessary. The estimated costs for this renovation were around 500,000 euros, which ultimately made the decision to build a new building easier. In the new construction, which was made of aluminum, the sailing community was able to optimally meet the requirements for long trips.
Community effort
In order to be able to build the new “Coat of Arms of Bremen”, the sponsoring group of the sailing community and its members mobilized an incredible one million euros. This sum was paid entirely in cash, which illustrates the deep connection within the club. When planning the yacht, the building committee actively addressed the wishes of both older and younger members.
The new yacht not only offers modern equipment, but also practical amenities. She has ten berths with USB ports, a radio and even a second toilet. The cockpit is cleverly divided into a work and living area, which makes it much easier to use on board. There is also a central winch for the main sheet, which makes sailing pleasant for all passengers.
A successful test
The first test drive of the “Wappen von Bremen” was a complete success. Testers reported an excellent sailing experience and that all new features worked smoothly. Numerous regional companies were involved in the construction work, and the members were always able to follow the progress. This not only promotes community but also an understanding of the challenges and joys of boat building. The “Wappen von Bremen” will soon embark on its first voyage across the North Sea to the Baltic States, an exciting adventure that the members of the sailing community are already eagerly awaiting.
With such a strong community spirit and a well-thought-out new building, the “Wappen von Bremen” stands as a proud flagship for Bremen’s sailing tradition and a new chapter in the club’s seafaring activities. On to the next adventure!
