Holiday schedule starts: Bremer buses and trains with new cycle times!

Bremen, Deutschland - in Bremen it has been said since July 3, 2025: "Holidays and fun!" Because the Bremer Straßenbahn AG (BSAG) and Bremerhavenbus have activated the holiday schedule for the upcoming summer vacation that last until August 17th. This change does not only apply to the buses, but also to the trams in the Bremen urban area, Monday to Friday.

With the holiday timetable, around 20 bus and tram lines in Bremen are served. However, caution is required, because there are currently some construction sites that can influence the timetable. The BSAG points to two important construction sites: in Bennigsenstrasse, where the track is affected, and on Domsheide. Road users should expect changes in the travel times that could affect their travels. The whole thing is rounded off by various diversions that are caused by the construction work either directly or indirectly.

diversions and construction sites

The diversions cannot be overlooked, because five large construction sites are causing a change in public transport this year:

  • Osterholz: June 21 to July 22nd-Bus replacement traffic 1e between Kurt-Huber-Straße and Nußhorn, lines 1 and 1s.
  • are affected
  • herdentor and bowl basket: June 24th to July 8th - detour of lines 4, N4, 6, 8, 24, 25, N3, N5 and N9.
  • Ostertorsteinweg: July 8th to July 22nd - Redance of lines 2 and 3.
  • Leher Heerstraße/Vorstraße: July 22nd to July 27th - redirection of lines 33, 34 and N3.
  • Nordstraße: July 29 to August 19 - detour of lines 3, 5, 5S and N7.

The Bremerhavenbus also upgraded and increased the clock for most lines from 10 minutes to 15 minutes. This drastic measure applies on working days until August 13th. The heavily frequented lines should prepare for a slightly longer waiting time.

Current information and solutions

For everyone who does not want to risk linked connections, BSAG has current timetables and information at both the stops and in digital timetable information. The VBN timetable app is also a practical support to find your way around the jungle of timetable changes. The comprehensive construction work and temporary timetables are therefore no reason to panic, but an invitation to find out early.

Finally, it should be said that the changes for numerous lines mix up splendidly in the holiday period. For example, line 1 is a 10-minute clock, line 2 is subject to a detour between DOVENTOR and SIELWALL. Line 3 is also affected on the same route, while lines 4 and 5 are also forced to adapt their routes through the construction sites.

Overall, it shows that the summer holidays in Bremen also have their rules in public transport. It is therefore particularly important to always remain informed and to note that there is also an opportunity to discover new ways behind each construction site - be it both for the way to work and for trips to the green landscape around Bremen.
