Pure fighting spirit! Blumenthaler SV and JFV Bremen before important youth games
Next weekend, youth football fans in Bremen-Nord can look forward to exciting encounters. Four nationally playing junior teams compete against well-known opponents. There are several games on the program that are of great importance for both the players and the coaches. The Weser-Kurier reports that the A-Juniors of Blumenthaler SV have a tough task ahead of them on Saturday: The Holstein team will welcome Kiel to the Burgwall Stadium at 1 p.m.
It will also be exciting on Sunday: the Regionalliga B juniors from Blumenthaler SV will meet Holstein Kiel II at 12 p.m. At the same time, the Regionalliga A juniors from JFV Bremen Borussia Hildesheim will be waiting at 1 p.m. The BSV C-Juniors also have their chance on Sunday when they play against Hamburger SV – also at 1 p.m.
Confrontations with strong opponents
The last few weeks have been challenging for Blumenthaler SV, especially after a painful 4-1 defeat against Hannover 96. Coach Denis Spitzer emphasizes the need to “work for” happiness in football. The past week of training was intensive, with a particular focus on forms of play that require a lot of ball contact. “Individual mistakes must be corrected,” said the coach, who also points to the strength of Holstein Kiel, who are currently third in the table with eight points.
Last but not least, JFV Bremen was also able to use the momentum: After their first win of the season against JFV A/O/B/H/H, where they played with only eight players, coach Mete Doener prepared the team well for their upcoming opponents. “Hildesheim is fast and plays with a good transition game,” he warns. There are only two players with injury problems, so the squad is well positioned.
Successful games for the Holstein Kiel Youth
The younger teams from Holstein Kiel also have reason to be happy. The U16 defeated the JFV Bremerhaven U17 4-2 after initially falling behind. A penalty from Diego Wulf brought the equalizer and his further goal made the final score. The U15 was also able to celebrate further successes by winning 3-1 against the same opponent despite being outnumbered. Coach Linus Schewior praised the team's performance in both games, which increases optimism for the challenges ahead. Holstein Kiel shows that the younger age groups in particular are well positioned.
Children's football is changing
In the midst of all these exciting games, German children's football is facing major changes. A reform should ensure that the focus is on more fun in the game, numerous ball contacts and performance-related challenges. The DFB shows that the loss of results in favor of individualized development is becoming increasingly important not only in Germany, but also in many other European countries. Unlike in England, where there is no fixed league system, the league is increasingly geared towards the needs of young players.
The upcoming games in Bremen-Nord not only offer a good opportunity for the young players to demonstrate their skills, but also reflect the changes and challenges that youth football is currently going through. The variety between great successes and tricky encounters is what makes football so attractive, and we're excited to see what the weekend has to offer!
