Vegesack in focus: Advisory board discusses important transport and environmental projects!
Next Monday, August 18th, the Vegesack advisory board will meet in the local office and there are a few items on the agenda that are of interest to the citizens. However, the local office manager Gunnar Sgolik points out that not all topics may be able to be discussed in the meeting. The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. and will also be broadcast digitally via Zoom; the access details will be announced in good time.
A central topic will be the renovation of Autobahn 270 and the Aue Bridge. Autobahn GmbH will provide information about the current planning status on site. At the same time, there will be news from waste management: representatives of the Bremen city cleaning department will provide information about changes in waste management and present new locations for used glass and textile containers. These new collection points are located on Meinert-Löffler-Straße, Beckstraße, Friedrich-Humbert-Straße, Hermann-Fortmann-Straße and Schulkenstraße. There is also a discussion about the possible expansion of the offer and the opening times of the Martinsheide green station.
Promoting biodiversity
Another exciting point is the “BioDIV-it-yourself” project, which is funded by the German Nature Conservation Association (Nabu). Raised beds and hedges for wild animals are to be created on the grounds of the Vegesacker Rifle Club. The aim of the project is to bring education and awareness of biodiversity, particularly to younger target groups.
The Vegesack youth advisory board
Furthermore, the future of the Vegesack Youth Advisory Board will be discussed. The application deadline ends on August 15th, but the number of applicants is rather low. The election for the youth advisory board is planned for mid-September. If there are fewer than twelve applications, the deadline could be extended or a youth forum could be convened. Here, young people have the opportunity to raise their voices and play an active role in shaping their district.
In the parties' inquiries and motions, the SPD parliamentary group asks questions about the greening of the storage district and the planning status of the Neue Strandlust. Ingo Schiphorst from Stimme Vegesacks also requests that the bicycle racks at Ambassador-Duckwitz-Platz be dismantled and criticizes the Office for Roads and Transport because they allegedly acted without consulting the local office. These discussions should be of great interest to those present and to the districts of Vegesack.
The topics to be discussed in this session clearly show that there is a lot of movement in Vegesack and there are numerous projects being planned that can enrich life in the district. With a good hand, those responsible here can ensure that residents benefit from the upcoming changes.
