Construction site chaos in Borgfeld: energy supply is being massively expanded!
The construction noise concert is in full swing in Borgfeld! Drivers in the region have to prepare for uncomfortable detours because the expansion of the energy supply is in full swing. Wesernetz, our local energy supplier, has announced the reasons for the extensive construction sites: New supply lines are being laid in the Borgfeld-West residential area in order to meet the increased energy demand. This need was not foreseeable when the new residential area was being planned, but has now increased significantly due to the increasing demand for photovoltaic systems, heat pumps and wallboxes. Weser-Kurier reports that the construction work will progress in the coming years.
The maintenance work not only affects power lines, but also drinking water lines that need to be replaced on Borgfelder Landstrasse. This leads to delays because the required deep drilling and the exploration by the explosive ordnance disposal service take time. The plan is for the work on Borgfelder Landstrasse to be completed after the autumn holidays, probably by October 25, 2025. Even if the old lines are not outdated, maintenance requires intensive care to ensure the safety and reliability of the energy supply.
Environmental protection and energy-efficient renovation
But it's not just the expansion of the energy supply that's happening in Borgfeld. An event on the topic of energy-saving renovation took place on September 26, 2023 in the shooting hall of the Borgfeld Shooting Guild. Three model renovation projects were visited here in July, and the owners received concrete suggestions for energy-efficient renovation of their buildings. Energy consumption in Germany, especially in residential buildings, contributes to around 30% of CO₂ emissions, as the Federal Environment Agency explains. The district concept aims to create a sustainable, greenhouse gas-neutral heat supply for the future. Citizens are in demand because the implementation of the concepts is their decision.
Innovations such as serial renovation and renovation sprints are presented as quick solutions to achieve climate goals. Ultimately, the operation of buildings can make a significant contribution to reducing climate-damaging emissions through appropriate measures. This makes it all the more important that all citizens of Borgfeld use the offers and information that are linked to such topics.
Trouble with nutria and the beautiful nature of Borgfeld
But nature also has its challenges. Nutria are currently endangering flood protection by digging into bank embankments and dikes. There is a state of alert as damage caused by flooding could have fatal consequences. Sightings of the nutria should be reported immediately to city hunter Richard Onesseit. These little rodents could seriously endanger flood protection!
Borgfeld offers a lot that needs to be kept in mind: from the construction sites that ensure the energy supply, to innovative concepts for energy-efficient renovation, to nature conservation concerns - there is really a lot going on here! The community and its citizens are helping to ensure that the district remains a beautiful and safe place for everyone in the future. So stay tuned and follow developments!
