SV Hemelingen plays DFB Cup in the Weser Stadium: Surprising turn!

There is excitement in Bremen! SV Hemelingen found a new venue on August 16 for its first round game in the DFB Cup against VfL Wolfsburg. Initially, the stadium on the Berlin Ring in Verden was planned, but a review showed that the place is four meters too short to meet the requirements of the German Football Association (DFB). The idea of extending the size with turf was rejected as impractical after careful consideration. The coach of SV Hemelingen, Günter Tuncel, was surprised by the defects and the resulting difficulties.

Now SV Hemelingen is pleased to be able to announce the Weser Stadium in Bremen as a new venue. This decision not only ensures planning security, but was also made in close cooperation with Weser-Stadion GmbH and Werder Bremen, who were accommodating at the price of the stadium rent. In particular, the 1st chairman of SV Hemelingen, Sami Tuncel, was positive about this solution, since the costs for rent solely cannot be covered by the expected spectators. This shows how important the support of the local partners is to master such challenges.

cards and preparations

VfL Wolfsburg originally planned to start ticket sales for the encounter on Tuesday. Thanks to the new location, this will probably follow shortly. On Wednesday, the team from Wolfsburg under the direction of the new trainer recorded the team training, even if the squad was not yet complete at the start of the training. The joy of the cup game is growing and at the same time the Bundesliga club shows great serenity in view of the delays in the stadium search.

A drop of bitterness remains, however: the planned test game of SV Hemelingen against Twente Enschede had to be canceled at short notice. But the anticipation for the cup game is still great, and the fans can look forward to an exciting afternoon in the Weser Stadium, which is now determined as a new venue for the DFB Cup duel.

Developments related to the game are further proof that flexibility is required in football. A good hand in the organization can make the difference when it comes to success. We can be excited to see how the SV Hemelingen team will be against the Bundesliga club.
