Today, Sunday, October 5, 2025, the time has finally come: there will be a shopping Sunday in Bremen, which attracts many bargain hunters and shopping enthusiasts. The shops open from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and offer the opportunity to pick up a bargain or two. Regulations for Sunday trading
The Bremen Shop Closing Act allows shops to open on a maximum of four Sundays a year, but not on certain public holidays such as Easter Sunday, Whitsun Sunday and Sunday of the Dead. Special regulations for bakeries and flower shops must also be observed, which may have different opening hours on Sundays. In areas such as the Schnoorviertel or Böttcherstrasse, shops can even open for eight hours on up to 40 Sundays and public holidays.
