The Christmas market in Bremen has once again managed to make it into the Champions League of Advent markets. It is currently ranked by “Feinschmecker” magazine as one of the most beautiful markets in Europe. The historical backdrop of the over 600-year-old town hall, the famous statue of the town musicians and the impressive office buildings of the cathedral courtyard create the special flair that attracts visitors. The Christmas market will open its doors from November 24th to December 23rd, 2025. Around 170 stalls offer a wealth of handicrafts and culinary delicacies, including mulled wine, roasted almonds, gingerbread and regional specialties such as Klaben and Kluten. The opening times are varied: Monday to Thursday from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday until 9:30 p.m. and Sunday until 8:30 p.m.
Battle magic on the Weser
A special highlight is the Schlachte magic on the Weser promenade, which brings the Hanseatic era back to life. At the opening on November 24th at 6:30 p.m., a spectacular fireworks display will be set off over the Weser to welcome visitors. Here on the Weser, spice traders, blacksmiths and wood turners present their craft and invite you to linger in taverns that serve mead. Small stages with minstrels also contribute to the festive atmosphere. The whole thing is surrounded by a sea of blue lights, transforming the scene into a wintry fairytale.
According to the magazine “Der Feinschmecker”, the Bremen Christmas market is one of the few in Germany that appears in this ranking along with the Erfurt Christmas market.
