New wind in Rekum: Higher wind turbines and solar park are planned!
In Rekum, a district of Blumenthal, something is happening in terms of wind energy. The dismantling of the old wind turbines on the national border has been completed within just two weeks. A crane was used in May to reduce rotors, hub and the tower. After this work there is only a break in concrete, which enables a fresh start. And that is exactly the plan: the construction of two new, higher wind turbines is in the starting blocks, a so -called repowering.
Project manager Felix Busse has to report positive things: the construction progress runs on schedule and the construction road on the Bremen side has already been completed. The approval for the route in Lower Saxony is imminent. The first fundamental work will soon be expected, and the wind skytops are expected to take place in December.
Monstrous dimensions and high performance
The new wind turbines will achieve significant dimensions with a hub height of 164 meters. Together with the rotor blades, they will reach a total height of a proud 245 meters. For comparison: the old wind turbines had a hub height of only 65 meters. These new systems are intended to increase the energy yield and are able to supply 12,000 households with green energy. This is how highly popular the before and after pictures published by Energiequelle GmbH to document the changes in the landscape.
The implementation of this project received the approval of the advisory board and the building deputation, but there were no debates. A second project on the same area is also being planned, which should include the construction of a solar park. To do this, the land use plan must be changed, which is associated with an area of around 14 hectares. Specifically, this means that parts of the site, such as marginal areas and rotor zones of the wind turbines, are to be kept free. The calculations on the area for the solar park are still underway.
Visualization of the wind power projects
If you already want to get an idea of the new wind turbine, you have the opportunity to use 3D visualizations. These make it possible to move virtually in the landscape and to view the planned wind turbines in a realistic form. Among other things, the geoportal of the Paderborn district offers such representations. The visualizations are created in accordance with good professional practice and can even be used for expert opinions, public relations and approval applications. Even animated rotors can be integrated in order to be able to understand reality, which further increases interest in the projects.
Overall, the signs are in recourse on progress and sustainable energy generation. The residents may be excited to see when the new wind turbines finally rise into the sky and the solar park goes online, which also also increases the energy transition.
