Last weekend, the police in Bremen, with the cooperation of the Federal Police, carried out extensive checks to combat drug crime. In total, over 140 people were checked, which shows that the police were keeping a close eye on the situation. These controls took place not only in the Ostertor district, but also in the Steintor district, especially in hotspots such as the Fehrfeld and the Ziegenmarkt. The results of the actions are impressive: nine expulsions were issued and various drugs were seized, including cocaine, ecstasy, cannabis and even prescription medication.

The police reported that, among other things, a suspect was caught at the Gustav Deetjen Tunnel with a bag of prescription painkillers, which led to a complaint under the Medicines Act. In addition, another suspect who committed grievous bodily harm with a glass bottle was temporarily arrested. A number of foreign identification documents and bank cards were seized during identity checks, and a report of embezzlement was filed against a suspect on the tram tracks.

What was particularly striking was the successful discovery of drug hideouts. The police discovered a bunker with marijuana, ecstasy and cocaine on Linienstrasse.
