An exciting cultural event is in full swing in Osterholz-Scharmbeck: The exhibition “Playing with Light” in Kreishaus I is enjoying great popularity. The photography group “AugenBlick”, consisting of eleven talented amateur photographers, has exhibited a total of 66 works that can be seen until November 10th. District Administrator Bernd Lütjen opened the exhibition with positive feedback and emphasized the importance of a good neighborhood, which is promoted through art and culture the BLV reported.

The opening attracted numerous visitors who were interested in the various themes of the photographs. The works are of different nature: from snow-covered landscapes to atmospheric candlelight scenes to impressive animal motifs - the spectrum is broad and delights visitors. Wolfgang Pohl, the group leader, emphasizes the community spirit within the photography group and the creative exchange that is fostered there. “Photography is the group’s main goal,” says Pohl.

Culture in the district hall

The Kreishaus I has been a popular location for changing exhibitions since 2001 and offers four to five events of this kind every year. The art and culture representative Ursula Villwock, who remains committed despite her retirement, made the selection of works for this exhibition together with curator Waldemar Grazewicz. Great importance was placed on making the group's creativity and different perspectives visible. All exhibition spaces have already been occupied by mid-2027, which underlines the lively demand, as in Weser courier can be read.

The “AugenBlick” group has been active for around eight years and is open to anyone interested in photography. The only requirement for participation is having a camera. The group is particularly proud of the large number of pictures on display and the diverse age groups among the members. From the older members to the younger photographers, such as Justin Meiners and Vincent Stelljes, the creative exchange is richly maintained.

Photography Day

The upcoming “Photography Day” on November 8, 2025, which will take place in the district hall, is particularly exciting. Here, hobby photographers, beginners and those interested can present their work and engage in personal exchanges. The event promises a full program with image presentations, short lectures and workshops, all with free admission. Anyone interested in taking part can register by email by October 10th the Osterholz district informed.

With such diverse offerings, the region shows how important art and community are. Visitors are welcome to explore the exhibition and participate in upcoming events to take a look into the creative world of photography. Wolfgang Pohl wishes all visitors a lot of fun looking at the pictures!
